April 2024 – Greg Manoukian was awarded the prestigious Koerner Family Foundation Fellowship awarded to engineering PhD students studying issues eminent in the USA. Congratulations Greg! Enjoy your trip to Japan!

  • Jason’s yearly Physics of Solar Cells course got to take a field trip to the Yards Brewery rooftop solar array for a lesson in applied engineering and sustainability! Indeed brought us all several hours of happiness

  • October 2023: The yearly Cadmium Telluride Accelerator Consortium held in National Renewable Energy Labs in Golden, CO saw participation by our ultrafast physics group (Jason, Greg and Alex) and we presented a poster on our collaborations with Institute for Energy Conversion and University of Florida. We managed to track down our friend Jesse for a night of fantastic Lebanese food at Ali Baba’s
  • July 2023: Jesse Starger has taken on an interneship at the National Renewable Energy Laboratories (NREL) for his work in crystallization kinetics of perovskite photovoltaic absorbers. We wish him all the best of luck and safe travels on this wonderful adventure. We cant wait to see the amazing photos of the Colorado wilderness.
  • June 2023: Greg Manoukian presented his research on quantifying recombination dynamics in CdSeTe PVs at the annual photovoltaics specialist conference (PVSC) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was awarded the best student paper in the Chalcogenides area. Congratulations Greg, and your roommate did a great job with your haircut.
  • April 2023: Greg Manoukian (’24) presented his research as an invited speaker to University of Delaware’s Institute of Energy Conversions monthly seminar.
  • Jan-March 2023: PhD student Caroline Cameron spent two months pursuing new directions to her research with Dr. Sabrina Spatari, professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, located in Haifa, Israel. Dr. Spatari is an expert in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and is an incredible resource for this project optimizing wind turbine material use.
    • When asked about the her excitement, Caroline replied ‘The most exciting thing I’ve done so far is leave North American soil for the first time and take my first trans-Atlantic flight. The most exciting thing I plan to do while I’m here (aside from some great research!) is to take a tour of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and Bethlehem!’
  • Safe Travels and best of luck! Pictured below the view from Caroline’s balcony.
