Graduate Students

Hannah (Sihan) Jia- Hannah gained my master’s degree in biotechnology in NYU Tandon where I worked as a RA for a year after graduation and joined the Deak Lab in January 2023. Her research is focused on using tolerogenic drug combination to generate potent tolerogenic dendritic cells and analyze the downstream effects on DC phenotypes.  These have applications in autoimmune dieases and transplantation.

Ted Kang- Ted joined the Deak group in January 2024 after obtaining his bachlor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from NYU.  His research is focused on developing targeted liposomes that capture HIV.  These particles, called Nanotrap vaccines, are being developed as an HIV therapeutic vaccine.
