MRS 2016 Spring Meeting
Our team including Prof. Yury Gogotsi, Babak Anasori, Mengqiang Zhao, Katie Van Aken, Amanda Pentecost, Evelyn Ren, and Sankalp Kota will attend the MRS 2016 Spring Meeting in Phoenix next week. All together, we have a dozen of posterand oral presentations, including a couple of invited talks.
Dr. Babak Anasori will be receiving the MRS Postdoctoral Award.This annual award recognizes postdoctoral scholars who are showing exceptional promise and excellence in scientificresearch, leadership, advocacy, outreach, or teaching, during their postdoc assignment. Babak was chosen from a very large group of nominees“for innovative research on 2D materials, creative and artistic ways of presenting science, dedication to and love of teaching, and student mentoring.” The award consists of an engraved trophy and a cash prize of $2,000. This is a highly competittive major internationalaward. Congratulations to Babak!
Katie van Aken will be acting as Students Ambassador for the MRS Spring 2016 Meeting, a major recognition and important service to the Society, and she will also be speaking at the Student Chapters Luncheon.

Davide is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath and Michael is currently a Winger Fellow at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
