Michelle Torelli Wins Prestigious Udall Scholarship

Congratulations to our CBE undergraduate student Michelle Torelli for winning a prestigious and highly competitive Udall Scholarship: https://www.udall.gov/OurPrograms/Scholarship/Scholarship.aspx

The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to Native American nations or to the environment. The Udall Foundation seeks future leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, and economics. Michelle was selected as an Udall Scholar for the environment. This year, the Udall Foundation awarded scholarships to only  50 sophomores and juniors from 42 colleges and universities. The 2017 Udall Scholars were selected from among 494 candidates at 224 colleges and universities.
Michelle started to work on MXenes with our group as a STAR student after her freshman year, has already co-authored a paper in Nano Energy, started an international collaboration, and keeps rolling! We expect from her a breakthrough in catalytic applications of MXenes!
