This two-year program brings together top institutions across Europe &#8211; including <strong data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"665\">Warsaw University of Technology <\/strong>(Poland), <strong data-start=\"667\" data-end=\"719\">Universit\u00e9 Toulouse III &#8211; Paul Sabatier <\/strong>(France), <strong data-start=\"721\" data-end=\"768\">Universit\u00e9 de Picardie Jules Verne <\/strong>(France), <strong data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"814\">University of the Basque Country <\/strong>(Spain), and <strong data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"858\">University of Ljubljana <\/strong>(Slovenia) &#8211; to provide a highly international graduate education in the field of energy storage. As one of the program\u2019s leading global research destinations, Drexel hosts i-MESC students for their final semester conducting a <strong data-start=\"914\" data-end=\"958\">6-month Master\u2019s thesis research project<\/strong> at Drexel\u2019s cutting-edge laboratories, within the College of Engineering and Drexel Nanomaterials Institute (DNI). Selected i-MESC students join leading research teams working on next-generation battery materials, supercapacitors, and other advanced electrochemical energy storage systems.<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"302\" data-end=\"1216\"><span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold; text-transform: uppercase;\">Eligibility and Application<\/span><\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2809\" data-end=\"3014\">The i-MESC program is open to students from around the world with strong backgrounds in chemistry, physics, materials science, or engineering. All courses and research activities are conducted in English.<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"3016\" data-end=\"3186\">Applications typically open in <strong data-start=\"3047\" data-end=\"3059\">November<\/strong> and close in <strong data-start=\"3073\" data-end=\"3082\">March<\/strong> for students applying for Erasmus Mundus scholarships. These scholarships cover full tuition, travel, insurance, and a monthly stipend for the full 24 months of the program (up to \u20ac33,600 total).<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2302\" data-end=\"2457\">During their thesis semester, i-MESC students at Drexel conduct independent research under the supervision of Drexel faculty. Past projects have included:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2458\" data-end=\"2622\"><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2458\" data-end=\"2504\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2460\" data-end=\"2504\">Synthesis of MXenes for battery applications<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2505\" data-end=\"2554\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2507\" data-end=\"2554\">Development of high-performance supercapacitors<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2555\" data-end=\"2622\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2557\" data-end=\"2622\">Investigation of solid-state electrolytes and electrode materials<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2624\" data-end=\"2775\">Students gain valuable experience in advanced techniques such as electron microscopy, spectroscopy, electrochemical analysis, and materials processing.<\/p><p data-start=\"2624\"
