The Materials Computation and Informatics Group (MCIG) at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Drexel University is led by Professor Yong-Jie Hu. At MCIG, we utilize and develop cutting-edge computational and data-science approaches to understand and design novel materials and optimize their synthesis and processing pathways. We are passionate about developing and leveraging fundamental knowledge and theories to solve scientific questions that arise in practical applications. The recent research in MCIG centers on complex concentrated alloys (high-entropy alloys), magnesium alloys, low-dimensional nanomaterials, and novel oxynitride compounds.
