Professor Jin Wen and Research Scientist Zhelun “Aaron” Chen from the BSEG have advanced the field of fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems by contributing the HVACSIM+ simulation data to a comprehensive open dataset. This resource, the largest of its kind, provides unprecedented insights into HVAC operations in both normal and faulted states, facilitating the development of more effective FDD technologies.
