Rich Kimball was selected to take part in the 2nd cohort of the Center of Leadership Development in Built Environment Sustainability (CLDBES) which is sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Rich was paired with Yan Ke who acted as a host professor for the month-long visit and collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS). Rich worked with Yan Ke to refine and expand his existing work to prepare for his Ph.D. dissertation topic proposal. During his time in Singapore, Rich helped write a proposal for a grant to preserve the historic NUS Baba House in a way that will allow it to be resilient to climate change and reduce carbon emissions. The visit and research collaboration culminated in a presentation at the American Society of Thermal and Fluid Engineers (ASTFE) 8th Thermal and Fluids Engineering Conference at the University of Maryland. More details about the CLDBES and the 2nd cohort can be found here.
