Graduate Students

Emma Snelling

Emma Snelling is a fourth year Materials Science and Engineering PhD student. She joined the lab in 2019 while pursuing a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Materials Science and Engineering within Drexel University’s BS/MS program. Her current research focuses on the upcycling of industrial food waste streams into value-added products.

Undergraduate Students

Alessandra Cabrera

Alessandra is a fourth year BS student in Materials Science and Engineering. She joined the NMPP lab in 2021 as a STAR Scholar and is passionate about the wide applications of nanofibers and creating sustainable products through polymer engineering.

Conway Zheng

Conway is a fourth year Materials Science and Engineering student. He joined the lab in 2022 as a STAR Scholar. He is currently working with touchspinning and studying it’s deposition of nanofibers as well as working on the nanoyarn machine.

Saffron Buscemi

Saffron is a third year Custom Designed Major in Textile Engineering and Technology. She joined the lab in 2024 through the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program which focused on fabricating nanoyarns from natural polymers. Current research interests are biopolymer based nanofibers and composites.

Peyton Buie

Peyton is a second-year Materials Science and Engineering student who first joined the lab as a STAR Scholar in 2024. She mainly focuses on electrospinning natural polymers for bone and tissue engineering.

Brendan Parker

Brendan is a first-year Materials Science and Engineering student. He joined the lab in 2025 and is fascinated by radiative cooling fabrics that can be produced using electrospinning.

Ahnaf Rahman

Ahnaf is a first-year Materials Science and Engineering student. He joined the lab in 2025 and has an interest in the production of nanoyarn.

Garvey Wolk

Garvey is a first-year Materials Science and Engineering student. He joined the lab in 2025 and is currently assisting with biochar and food waste projects.
