Visit of BSEG members to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for the Hardware-in-the-loop Flexibility Testing (HILFT) project

BSEG members, Zhelun “Aaron” Chen (Research Scientist) and Yicheng Li (PhD Candidate), visited NIST from April 23 to 26, 2023. They were warmly greeted by Amanda Pertzborn, Vance Payne, and Steve Bushby. They were given a comprehensive introduction to the Intelligent Buildings Agents Laboratory (IBAL) and Air-Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Testing Facility used in the HILFT project, followed by a tour of the NIST campus and the net-zero house. The visit provided them with a deeper insight into the IBAL and ASHP hardware systems.
