MCMB Lab PhD student Amir Sadighi successfully presented his dissertation proposal! His dissertation is entitled “Numerical Hygro-mechanical Analysis and Design of the Swelling Co-polymeric Bone Anchors”. His work aims to develop a hygro-elastic FE framework to analyze the implantation of swelling bone anchors, and use the data to have an optimal design in terms of material composition, porosity and osteointegration. His Committee is chaired by MCMB PI Dr. Ahmad Najafi and contains Drexel Professors Sorin Siegler, Steven Kurtz, Li-Hsin Han, and UPenn Professor Thomas Schaer.
