The Multiscale Computational Mechanics and Biomechanics (MCMB) Lab at Drexel University attended the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE 2024) from November 17-21, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. We are proud to announce that our work has been selected as one of the ASME Rising Stars of Mechanical Engineering.
The inaugural ASME Rising Stars of Mechanical Engineering Showcase and Celebration featured over $50 million worth of award-winning research projects, all under one roof. These projects, supported by agencies such as the NSF, ONR, AFOSR, DARPA, and DOE, highlight research that is shaping the future of engineering.
Dr. Najafi participated in the ASME Rising Stars of Mechanical Engineering event by presenting a poster titled “Multiscale Multiphysics Design of Multifunctional Materials and Structures.” Additionally, he delivered a talk entitled “Realizing Optimized Structures With Spatially Varying Microstructures Using Homogenization and Machine Learning Surrogate Models”.
In the ASME IMECE 2024, we represented Drexel University, the Drexel University College of Engineering, and Drexel University Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics (MEM).
