Timothy Speck is a part-time M.S Student at the Drexel University College of Engineering in the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics Department and Mechanical Engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD). He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2014. After working in the NSWCPD Machinery Research, Logistics, and Ship Integrity Department while completing his degree, he joined the NSWCPD Propulsion, Power, and Auxiliary Machinery Systems Department to work in life-cycle design and support of shipboard fluid piping systems. He enrolled in Drexel University to complete a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2019 and joined the Multiscale Computational Mechanics and Biomechanics (MCMB) Lab in 2020. His interests are in Computational Mechanics, Design Optimization, Finite Element Methods, and Multifunctional Materials/Structural Battery Composites. He was a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) from 2012 – 2016 and is a current member of American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) since 2016.
