Correlation Between Processing and Material Strength: Case of UHMWPE

This collaborative effort examines the relationship between processing conditions and material performance in high impact (high strain rate) applications. We have developed a novel gel spinning apparatus that controls key processing parameters such as draw ratio and crystallization kinetics. The results of this work will significantly add to our understanding between processing conditions and material properties.
