Dr. Wei Sun is invited as a keynote speaker for a talk on“ Computer-Aided Tissue Engineering – Recent Advances” at the International Symposium on Micro/Nano Thermal and Fluid Systems” at the University of Tokyo, Japan, December 6, 2004.

Dr. Wei Sun was invited for a presentation on “Solid Freeform Fabrication in Computer-Aided Tissue Engineering” at Frontiers of Materials Science & Engineering Symposium: Bridging Science & Manufacturing at the 2004 Annual Congress of American Society of Materials, October 18, 2004, Columbus, Ohio.

Saif Khalil, Ph.D. Candidate, presented a paper on "Biopolymer Deposition for Tissue Scaffold Fabrication" at the 2004 Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Fall Meeting at Philadelphia, Oct. 16, 2004.

Andrew Darling, Ph.D. Candidate, presented a paper on "Multi-material Polymer Scaffolds for Tissue Engineering" at the Polymer Network 2004 at NIH.

Dr. Wei Sun presented a paper “Multi-nozzle Biopolymer Deposition for Freeform Fabrication of Tissue Constructs” at the 2004 Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium at Austin, Texas, August 2-4, 2004.

Binil Starly, Ph.D. Candidate, presented “Biomimetic Design and Fabrication of Interior Architecture of Tissue scaffolds using Solid Freeform Fabrication” at the 2004 Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium at Austin, Texas, August 2-4, 2004.

Dr. Wei Sun gave seminars on Computer-Aided Tissue Engineering in China at Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, the University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University in September, 2004.

Andrew Darling, Ph.D. Candidate, won the first place in the poster competition at the 30th Annual Northeast Bioengineering Conference, April 17-18, 2004, Western New England College, Springfield, MA, for his poster "Scaffold Informatics: Multi-material Strategies for Tissue Engineering".

Dr. Wei Sun was invited for a seminar on “Computer-Aided Tissue Engineering Approach for Design and Fabrication of Tissue Scaffolds” at the State University of New York – Buffalo on March 5, 2004.

Dr Wei Sun was invited for a seminar on “Multi-nozzle Biopolymer Deposition for Freeform Fabrication of Tissue Constructs” at the Polymer Division of National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) on February 5, 2004.
