PhD student Nina Lane will be a core participant in a 14-week Materials Defects workshop at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at UCLA September – December 2012. IPAM is an NSF-funded mathematics institute that holds workshops on various topics to foster collaborations between researchers in pure and applied math, science, and engineering.
