Philly Materials Day and ASM Camp
During the annual Philly Materials Day, a mix of interactive demonstrations, lectures, and activities are presented to over 1000 visitors from the general public, including a significant number of K-6 students.
The PI and her students are actively engaged in outreach programs in the Philadelphia area. During the annual Philly Materials Day, a mix of interactive demonstrations, lectures, and activities are presented to over 1000 visitors from the general public, including a significant number of K-6 students. The ASM Materials Camp is a free week-long experience provided to ~25 diverse high school students at Drexel University each summer. For these events, the PI and her students developed a demonstration of a fruit battery, which explains the basic processes governing charge transfer and storage in batteries.
ECS Drexel Student Chapter
Since 2015, Prof. Pomerantseva holds the position of Electrochemical Society (ECS) Drexel Student Chapter mentor. She worked with students from Drexel University on organizing the ECS Philadelphia gathering event, which took place on April 28, 2016.
Since 2015, Prof. Pomerantseva holds the position of Electrochemical Society (ECS) Drexel Student Chapter mentor. She worked with students from Drexel University on organizing the ECS Philadelphia gathering event, which took place on April 28, 2016. The ECS Drexel Student Chapter held a region-wide symposium with over 50 participants from Rowan University, University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, and Drexel University. The event was selected as one of the Student Chapters highlights of the quarter.
