Babak wins in “Science as Art” competition in MRS 2012

Ph.D. student Babak Anasori won second place in the “Science as Art” competition in the 2012 MRS Fall Meeting . His artistic image “The Happy 2-D World” was a combination of 3 different scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of MXene particles. The MXene particles were fabricated by Ph.D. student Michael Naguib.

Babak also gave a talk at the 2012 MRS Fall Meeting in Symposium GG: Mechanical Behavior of Metallic Nanostructured Materials. His talk was entitled “Nano-grained Mg Composites Reinforced with MAX Phases.”
