Research in the A.J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute (DNI) is focused on MXenes, the largest family of inorganic materials, 2D transition metal carbides and nitrides, which were discovered at Drexel University in 2011. In our lab, we explore the fundamental and applied aspects of the synthesis and characterization of MXenes, and their broad spectrum of applications. At DNI, we develop and study new nanomaterials and work closely with industry and academic collaborators to significantly decrease the time from discovery to commercial application of new materials.
