Professor Emeritus
DEGREES: PhD 1966, University of Michigan
Research keywords: power systems, power electronics, systems analysis, optimization
Profile
Dr. Fischl’s (1931-2018) research interests were in the areas of power systems and power electronics, system analysis and design, modeling, optimization using both classical and new technologies, such as neural network and intelligent computation. He was an IEEE Fellow for his contributions to the design and understanding of power systems.
Some of is final projects involved power system security assessment and enhancement, transfer and voltage capability of a network, design of decision fusion systems, neural networks for power system application, voltage stability and control, load modeling, high-power high-voltage optically controlled PIN switch for custom power, power device modeling, CAD of circuits, fault tolerant circuits and robust controllers.
