Profile

Michael Kleinberg received his BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University in 2004, 2007, and 2015. respectively.  His research interests include distributed system analysis and distribution system optimization.

During his time at Drexel, Michael actively participated in engineering education research as well. This work involved designing and assessing the effectiveness of hardware laboratory experiences for outreach education in the field of electric power engineering. The work was aimed at bridging the knowledge gap between power systems engineers and those outside the field while also encouraging interest in the discipline.

Michael is employed at an adjunct faculty member at Widener University in the Electrical Engineering Department. At Widener, Michael has been responsible for course development, lecturing, testing and assessing student performance for 7 courses at the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior levels. These courses include Control Systems I, Power Systems Engineering, Power Engineering, Analysis of Linear Electric Systems Laboratory, Electric Circuits Laboratory, Computer Programming & Engineering Problem Solving, and Engineering Techniques.

PhD Thesis

Michael R. Kleinberg, “Online optimization of capacitor switching in electric power distribution systems,” Ph.D. Thesis, June 2015.
