Dr. Hua Zhang is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel University. She received her BS, MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Northwestern Polytechniccal University, China in 2011, 2014, and 2017, respectively. Previously, she was a lecturer at the San Diego State University from 2016 to 2017, and a joint PhD student at the University of Michigan-Dearborn from 2014 to 2015. Her research focuses on the capacitive power transfer technology for electric vehicles, and she proposed the world-first high-power, high-efficiency, and long-distance capacitive power transfer system with her research group. Because of her research innovations in the new technology, she has received two best paper awards from the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics and three conference awards. Her recent research also includes high-frequency resonant converter, the connected and automated vehicles (CAV), renewable energy, and smart grid.
