Profile

Dr. Kwatny received his B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel Institute of Technology in 1961, his M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1962, and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967. Dr. Kwatny’s research focuses on the modeling, analysis and control of dynamical systems. He has contributed to the development of linear and nonlinear regulator theory and to variable structure control theory. His applications interests include power network stability, generating plant control, multi-body flexible space structures and aircraft. He is active in software development for computer aided control system design.

Professor Kwatny has published two books, over 200 technical articles, and is a Life Fellow of the IEEE.
